When was the significance of the year 1919 first stated?
by jwfacts in.
when was it first introduced that the watchtower organisation was chosen in 1919?
i expect this was something first published under rutherford, as a way of making his leadership more important than that of russell, but would like some evidence to back that claim up.. .

It's a convoluted bit of everything: Elijah passing on the mantle to Elisha, the "virgins" being on alert, etc.
They took it upon themselves to be the Lord's people and afterward tweaked the Scriptures to fit in.

by jwleaks ineight family members killed in mexico massacremexico | november 17, 2013. mexican police found sunday a family of eight, including three children, stabbed to death and tied down in their home in the northern city of ciudad juarez.. a two-year-old boy survived the attack and was handed to neighbors, local police said.. the chihuahua state prosecutor's office said the assailants apparently forced their way inside the house and killed two men, three women and three children between the ages of four and six.. their mouths were covered with duct tape and their hands and feet were tied.
neighbors said they heard gun shots but authorities said the victims had stab wounds.. neighbors said the house owner was a car salesman.. the family was supposed to attend a meeting of jehovah's witnesses when they were attacked inside their home on sunday morning, according to testimonies.. they were discovered dead after members of the congregation went to look for them.. ciudad juarez, which borders the us state of texas, was once the deadliest city in mexico amid a turf war between drug cartels.. more than 10,000 people have been killed in the city since 2006 but the murder rate began to decline in 2011.. local officials say the drop in violence is due to tougher policing and crime prevention programs, but security experts believe it began to wane after the sinaloa drug cartel defeated the rival juarez gang.. read latest breaking news from newsmax.com http://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/mexico-crime-murder/2013/11/17/id/537112#ixzz2kziajt8f.

jemba >>> Yeah, right. How about going to a KH and getting blown to bits?
.
. . . on July 21 of last year, a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sydney, Australia, was demolished by a bomb during a public Bible talk about loyalty to God and family. One Witness was killed. More than 40 were hospitalized.

NewYork44M >>> Isn't there a scripture that suggests the resurrected annointed communicate with those on earth?
.
.
They squeeze that interpretation out of Revelation 7:13, 14a.
“And in response one of the elders said to me: ‘These who are dressed in the white robes, who are they and where did they come from?’ So right away I said to him: ‘My lord, you are the one that knows.’” (Revelation 7:13, 14a) Yes, that elder could locate the answer and give it to John. This suggests that resurrected ones of the 24-elders group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today.(Revelation-Book Chap. 20 p. 125 par. 17)
What, then, can we deduce from the fact that one of the 24 elders identifies the great crowd to John? It seems that resurrected ones of the 24-elders group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today. Why is that important? Because the correct identity of the great crowd was revealed to God’s anointed servants on earth in 1935. If one of the 24 elders was used to convey that important truth, he would have had to be resurrected to heaven by 1935 at the latest. That would indicate that the first resurrection began sometime between 1914 and 1935.( 2007 The Watchtower, January 1, page 28 par. 11 ) .

Thus, the kick in the butt from WTBTS (WT, January 15, 2014, pages 22-26):
.
2 Many Christians in their 50’s and older still have plenty of vigor. They may have some gray hair, but likely they do not yet have the frail health described by Solomon.
9 The apostle Peter may have been over 50 when he moved to where the need was greater.
10 Today, many Christians in their 50’s and older find that their circumstances have changed and that they are able to serve Jehovah in new ways.
14 Although many Christians in their 50’s have fine opportunities to do new things in Jehovah’s service, not all can. Some of them have poor health, and others care for aging parents or dependent children. -

Emergency relief fund for the Philippines. How will it work.
by joe134cd ini was just thinking it will be interesting to see how the wts emergency relief fund will operate in the philippines.
ok it worked well with the storm in florida, with cashing in on the insurance cheques.
sorry to generalize, but americans have the disposable income, and the insurance polices for things like this - a thing the wtbts finds very attractive.

In December 2012, after powerful typhoon Bopha brought destruction across the Philippines, JW.ORG isued this statement:
"All of the relief efforts are being funded by donations from Jehovah’s Witnesses in the local area as well as the larger international community of Witnesses. The Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses helps to care for such expenses by utilizing funds donated to the Witnesses’ worldwide work."
Other than the hype reports you can read in the mags later on, particulars are never divulged by the WBTS.
